Ohh Kaaat !

Day of Flying kites !
As kids we used to await this day eagerly. Practicing flying kites or rather flying them for pure fun used to be a daily routine after school for a month before 14 jan. Preparing the Manja , kites , collecting them & stocking them for the final D Day used to be a passionate ordeal.

Its sad to see none of them flying ( at least here in Pune ). So trying to relieve the names of kites through my profession :) and trying to document the vocab & the slang associated with it . Happy Sankranti !!

Ohh Paaar ! Ohhhh Kaaat !
means - a warcry like shout when you cut the others kites with yours flying high in control !

Vector art

Hi all, a post after long.. have been busy with some very interesting projects !.. here one i did with great bunch of people at LEMON Design, PUNE. I worked with them creating concepts & the vector illustrations for the annual IIIJS exhibition yo be held in Mumbai. Heres a link for the final Exhibit featured in creative roots. I Did only the vector Illustrations which was taken to a another level by the graphic designers & exhibition designers for various spatial & print parallels.A great interplay of colors & 3D objects spawned from the designs.
I had a good time & well worth every bit of it.. here im sharing a lot of initial sketches & panorama sketches ..Hope u like em..

A Fantastic Festival this is .. The Ganesha Festival! With heavy rains & downpour its still not gloomy as all are energetic to participate or even take a drive thru the city to absorb the visual splendor of the Ganesha installations & stalls ! Its divine .. while the city of Pune is full of life Im posting a graphic of My GOD !
May he bring peace all across & bless every soul ..

This started as rapid sketches on A3 Sheets with charcoal .. by taking refs from random fashion images from google & some magazines lying around .. later reworked on painter & PS with Dry media 7 Charcoal brushes to make up a pitch for Calendar Design ..

What better day to share some quick sketches of my daughter ! 'Chiya' as she speaks her name in her sweet voice .. There are loads i have been doing while she does all kinds of things around ..

have been listening to some p songs off late..sketching along.. this one was called " WASH AWAY " by joe purdy.. simple & easy lyrics with nice guitar. Had heard this song as an OST of series LOST ( what a lovely one that was ), so sketched from one of his photos there as I savoured the song & lyrics. hope you do too!

GUN(d) MACHANA !

Hi ..
i hit this interesting hindi slang of GUN(d) MACHANA while chattering with friends ! also liked the connotation it has with Guns( read : WAR ) being dirty ! & how humans are at helm of spreading that dirt .. thought it made interesting figure of speech .. more like a PUN within Hindi & English !
hence those graphical illustrations ..

I love doing sci-fi stuff & its an amazing line to explore & stretch mind... but the thought of a future , lifeless & over digitised with technology laden lifestyle without any vegetation & nature gives me a eerie kind of a feeling.. just a thought I have ..
